In celebration of the forthcoming centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth and the exhibition, Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style, Royal Collection Trust has commissioned this exclusive collection of fine bone chinaware.
The centrepiece of the design is the EIIR cypher, which appeared on Her late Majesty’s Robe of Estate worn at the Coronation. It is encircled by a golden starburst of 96 rays, symbolising joy and life. The design also incorporates the four traditional floral symbols representing the nations of the United Kingdom. Pearl and wheatsheaf motifs echo the intricate detailing found on the late Queen’s wedding dress and other elegant gowns worn during state occasions.
English fine bone china is renowned for its exceptional clarity, fineness, and durability. Each piece has been handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent using traditional techniques that have remained unchanged for over 250 years before being meticulously finished with 22-carat gold.
