World Chelsea Bun Awards 2026

World Chelsea Bun Awards 2026

The 8th World Chelsea Bun Awards took place alfresco on Sunday 20th September, for the very first time in Gloucester Road, alongside the Gloucester Road ‘North’ Autumn Street Festival.

This year entrants embraced the theme ‘Traditional Chelsea Buns Meet Innovation’ – celebrating the traditional character of the Chelsea Bun while exploring creative ideas. We were delighted to receive a wonderful variety of entries from across the UK, as well as Belgium, Japan and New Zealand, to name a few.

We were delighted to welcome Mark Wogan, national radio, TV & podcast presenter, and the co-founder of Homeslice Pizza and Symplicity Foods, and Alice Ryan, editor of award-winning East Anglian lifestyle magazine Velvet, organiser of annual Food & Drink Awards in both Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, and national food writer for the last decade, to our judging panel for 2026.

The 8th World Chelsea Bun Awards also helped raise money for React, a London-based ‘rapid response’ charity, that assists terminally ill children by providing equipment and aid that is unavailable through any other source to financially disadvantaged families.

Congratulations to all this year’s winners, and especially to Sian Magee, who was crowned our Overall Supreme Champion this year, with her Fresh Raspberries, Pistachio and Chocolate Chelsea Buns. The judges found these had the perfect flavour and texture!

Our other winners included Aleksandra Sieradzka of Finn’s of Chelsea, who won the Professional Bakers Instagram Competition; Grace Edmonds, who won the Amateur Instagram Competition; Eden Calderon who won the Adult Category in the Live Tasting Competition; and Lila F. who won the Under 18 Category.

The event was sponsored by The Drury Tea & Coffee Company and Potion De V.

We look forward to seeing you in 2027!
