Partridges offer a wide range of goods that are useful for different events throughout the year. Below you will find a list of events that might give you some ideas for your own celebrations. Just remember that you will find a lot of our produce very useful if you are throwing your own party.

January 2012

New Year's Day ParadeNew Year’s Day (1) - New Year’s Day Parade starts at 11:45am on Piccadilly and ends on Parliament Street.  The 2012 Parade marks the event’s 26th Anniversary.

Twelfth Night (6) – remember to take your Christmas trimmings down.

Chinese New Year (23) – 2012 is the Year of the Dragon.
'Kung Hei Fat Choy' means 'Happy New Year' in Chinese. It is also popularly called the Spring Festival, and the festivities last for 15 days. It is also referred to as the Lunar New Year because it starts with the new moon on the first day of the new year and ends with the full moon 15 days later. 

Burn’s Night (25) – celebrating the birthday of the Scottish poet Robbie Burns.  A night to enjoy haggis, neeps and tatties (mashed turnip and mashed potato)!

April Fool’s Day (1) – the day when it is acceptable to play practical jokes on family, friends and colleagues.

EasterEaster Weekend (6-9) (Christian Festival)
The most holy of Christian sacred days. The day commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from his death by crucifixion.

St George's Day (23) – celebration of the Patron Saint of England.

Royal WeddingAnniversary of the Royal Wedding (29) - The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - was one of the biggest calendar events of 2011.

 

May 2012

May Day (1) - Traditional English May Day celebrations include Morris dancing, crowning a May Queen and dancing around a Maypole.

Chelsea Flower ShowChelsea Flower Show (22-26) – Your chance to indulge in some of Partridges finest foods. Why not make yourselves a picnic and take a break from looking at all the inspiring gardens and flower displays. Treat yourselves to some cheese, meats or salmon from the deli and wash it all down with some of our excellent range of fine wines.

Partridges' 40th Birthday (25) - It's a big year for Partridges as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary on 25th May.

June 2012

Taste of London Spring Bank Holiday (4) – in Regent’s Park. Get the chance to sample and shop for gourmet food and drink, and see a range of entertaining and informative features.

Diamond Jubilee Holiday (5) – a nationwide celebration will mark the Queen's Diamond Jubil

Trooping The Colour (16) - The Sovereign’s birthday is officially celebrated by this ceremony. 

Father's Day (17)


Royal Ascot (19-23) - Ascot Racecourse was founded by Queen Anne in 1711. Each day begins with the Royal Procession - the arrival of The Queen and the Royal party in horse-drawn landaus. The Royal Procession dates back to the 1820s and the reign of King George IV.

Summer Solstice (21) - The longest day of the year, when the Sun is at its most northern point in the sky.  Due to Britain's northern location, the sun rises around 4:30 a.m. and doesn't set until 9:30 p.m. on this day.

Wimbledon (25 June - 8 July) - One of the four great world tennis championships and the only one which is played on grass.

Notting Hill Carnival (26-27) – Around a million people take to the streets of Notting Hill in West London for the Notting Hill Carnival - Europe's biggest carnival.

September 2012

Last Night of the Proms (8) – if you are not lucky enough to get tickets for the Albert Hall then go to the Proms in the Park, Hyde Park instead.

Autumn equinox (23) – when the daylight hours start to get shorter than the night.

October 2012

Canadian Thanksgiving (8) 

British Summer Time ends (30) – time to put the clock back by one hour.

Halloween (31) – Pay a visit to the store and pick up all the goodies you need to celebrate from pumpkins to sweets and chocolates for your trick or treaters

November 2012

London to Brighton Car Rally (4) – The annual event takes place to commemorate the raising of the speed limit for `light locomotives' from 4 mph to 14 mph in 1896 and abolished the requirement for these vehicles to be preceded by a man on foot.

Bonfire Night (5) - Remenber, remenber the fifth of November, Gunpowder. treason and plot. We see no reason why Gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

Lord Mayor’s Show (10) – The first Lord Mayor's Show was held in 1215 and since its conception only major events such as the Black Death - and in 1852, the funeral of the Duke of Wellington - have stopped the show. 

Remembrance Sunday (11) – the closest Sunday to Armistice Day, which is the anniversary of when hostilities in the First World War ended at 11 a.m  on 11 November in 1918.

Thanksgiving (22) – American festival of Thanksgiving.

Christmas Eve (24) - Christmas Eve is not a public holiday in the UK. Public transport services may end services earlier than usual.
